A note from Denise Brownlee

 I saw Ellie Haun Friday and she told me some of the titles you are singing this season, so I checked the blog just now...what a great lineup! I had the wonderful opportunity when I was in 8th grade to attend a summer music camp with Jester Hairston as the conductor. He was a funny, engaging man and what an experience! We sang "Amen" which he also sang with us. Just wonderful - can't wait to hear his piece. 

Feb. 26 Rehearsal

Don't forget that MWC will rehearse on Friday, Feb. 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Pine Lutheran Church.  The address is 7103 S. Middle Rd. (Mt. Jackson)--also known as Rt. 614.  This is where we've held our last two annual dinner meetings.  Let me know if you need further directions. You can also contact Karen Van Stee at (540)984-6248.

Sharon Waters' mother died

Thank you for your prayers for Sharon's mom -- she died this morning with her loved ones at her side. Please continue to remember them in the coming days:  Sharon Waters and her husband, Leonard Keith Waters as well as Sharon's brother, Wayne Roddy and his wife, Melanie and their children.

A note from Ramona

Wanted to let you know that my dad passed away this morning.  He had really declined the past couple of days, so it was not unexpected.  Still very hard, as you well know!  We will be going out to Grandle Funeral Home this afternoon to make arrangements.

Feb. 15 rehearsal cancelled

Rehearsal for tonight has been cancelled.  We will resume rehearsals Monday, Feb. 22 with the addition of a rehearsal on Feb. 26 (Friday); regular rehearsal will be held Monday, Feb. 29 and an added rehearsal of March 4(Friday).  These are considered mandatory, and individuals are asked to please be there except in cases of important plans or work.   If you have already let Ramona know that you can't attend the added rehearsals, you do not need to respond again.  We understand that there are sometimes extenuating circumstances (like work).  Locations for the make up rehearsals will be announced later.

Feb. 8 : rehearsal cancelled

Since we are currently under a weather alert in our area, we feel it is best to cancel rehearsal for tonight.  Will try to get more information to you soon as to a make up rehearsal date.  

Monday Feb.8 rehearsal

In case of inclement weather,we will make a decision by 1:00 P.M. Monday about canceling. Scott would also prefer that we inform the choir that A MANDATORY REHEARSAL FOR A FRIDAY NIGHT IS DEFINITE SHOULD WE MISS THIS MONDAY NIGHT.

Ramona's father

Ramona's father has taken a serious turn for the worse, so Ramona will not be with us tonight. She would appreciate prayers for herself and her family.
